I experienced a rare illness, which is very hard to receive treatment for in Australia. I had severe insomnia from around the age of 3 until I was 23. I believe it profoundly affected my life.
As someone from a wealthy background I’ve spoken to many medical professionals, however it seems that as it is viewed as a borderline mental illness in Australia, that means we don’t do much about it. As Australia classes as a third world country by WHO and the UN when it comes to mental health.
I have already recovered through difficult trial and error, however I wish to understand the longer term effects as I have strong evidence that it dramatically effected my biology.
I find it hard to find information online about childhood insomnia, other than that it is very awful and destructive.
This is why I would like someone to undertake the task of researching and writing a document of useful information that I would find relevant. I know that I have barely scratched the surface.
