TNPSC group 1 answer key 2021 Out; Shankar IAS Academy


The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has conducted the Combined Civil Services Group 1 preliminary exam 2020 today on January 3rd, 2021 and will release the answer key of the same within few days. But while the candidates await the official TNPSC answer key, the coaching institutions such as Shankar IAS academy, Radian IAS academy, Suresh IAS academy, We Shine academy and Appolo Study Centre etc. release their version of the group 1 answer key online.

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has conducted this Combined Civil Services examination for recruitment to 69 group 1 vacancies on posts such Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner and District officer etc. The exam was originally to be held in April 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 induced lockdown and was now conducted on January 3rd as per the revised TNPSC annual calendar 2021.

TNPSC Group 1 answer key

TNPSC will release the group 1 key for the exam conducted on 3rd January 2021 on its official website www.tnpsc.gov.in in few days. The exact date for the issuance of official provisional group 1 exam key is not mentioned in the notification. The candidates should keep visiting the official site for notice about answer key.

Most of these institutes have already released the group 1 answer key at their Youtube channel. You can also visit their websites for the same. The link to download group 1 key PDF will be updated here once officially released.

A total of 200 questions were asked in the TNPSC group 1 question paper of 3rd January 2021 for a maximum 300 marks and there is no negative marking. 175 questions were asked from General Studies section and 25 from Aptitude and Mental Ability section.

Qualifying marks:

As per the official notice, the candidates need to obtain minimum qualifying marks to pass TNPSC group 1 preliminary exam and be shortlisted for mains exam.

Here are qualifying marks in prelims exam:

  • For open category- 120 marks
  • Other than Open category- 90 marks

Selection Process:

The selection process in TNPSC group 1 exam consists of 3 phases; 1) Preliminary exam, 2) Mains exam, and 3) Interviews.

While the prelims exam consisted of multiple choice questions, mains exam will be a descriptive paper.
